Art For Change

TRANSFORMING TREATMENT PLANTS WITH MURAL ART
In honour of World Rivers Day, this project, which began as an ambitious collaboration between Shielder, Muma Malaysia and the passionate students from TAR UMT, transformed the walls of treatment plants at Yamazaki Seiga and Mars Global into canvases for creativity. Over the course of ten days, these spaces went from plain walls to murals celebrating the role of clean rivers in sustaining life.

A NEW CANVAS AT YAMAZAKI SEIGA
At Yamazaki Seiga in Muar, Johor, the TAR UMT students brought their talent and passion to create a mural that symbolises Shielder’s mission to turn waste into life. Their artwork is more than just visually stunning, it’s a powerful reminder of our collective responsibility to protect rivers and the vital ecosystems they support.

ANOTHER TRANSFORMATION AT MARS GLOBAL
Following the success at Yamazaki Seiga, the team turned to Mars Global, where another wall awaited its transformation. In just five days, Muma Malaysia and the TAR UMT students brought colour and life to this space, once again underscoring our belief that art can inspire change. These murals don’t just beautify, they serve as a visual representation of how we can all contribute to healthier rivers and a cleaner planet.

GRATITUDE TO OUR PARTNERS
This project wouldn’t have been possible without the creativity and hard work of Muma Malaysia, the talented students from TAR UMT and the support of our partners. Thanks to their commitment, we were able to celebrate World River Day with murals that highlight the importance of preserving rivers. Art has the power to inspire, and we hope these murals encourage everyone to consider the role they play in protecting our rivers for future generations. Join us as we celebrate World Rivers Day, and together, let’s make every day a step closer to a cleaner, healthier planet.

Yamazaki’s Waste Solution

At Yamazaki Seiga Sdn Bhd, a biscuit factory nestled in the town of Muar, Johor, wastewater management once posed a daunting challenge. Like many factory owners, Yamazaki Seiga’s Founder, Mr. Ng, found himself grappling with how to handle the wastewater produced by his factory. The thought of failing to meet environmental standards and the potential damage untreated wastewater could do to rivers left him restless for many nights.

WASTEWATER WORRIES THAT KEPT MR. NG AWAKE
For him, the challenge wasn’t just about running a successful business, it was about doing so responsibly. The factory’s production processes inevitably produced wastewater, and getting it treated in compliance with the stringent standards set by the Malaysia’s Department of Environment was a constant worry.

“I couldn’t sleep knowing that the wastewater from my factory might harm the environment if it wasn’t treated properly. We needed a solution that would ensure our discharge was not only legal but also safe for the rivers and for life,” Mr. Ng shared in a recent interview.

SHIELDER’S EXPERT INTERVENTION
That’s when Mr. Ng contacted us. Utilising Shielder’s unique wastewater treatment approach, we ensured that the factory’s wastewater was treated to the highest standard. What was once a troublesome byproduct became a clear, safe and life-sustaining resource. All ready for safe discharge into rivers without harm to the environment.

HOW SHIELDER MADE A DIFFERENCE
Before Shielder’s involvement, Mr. Ng feared the consequences of improper wastewater treatment. With us, however, his factory’s production never faltered. Knowing that the treated wastewater was not only up to standard but completely safe for rivers, Mr. Ng’s team could focus on running the business smoothly.

“Now, I can sleep peacefully,” he says with a relieved smile. “Thanks to SHIELDER, we are no longer worried about wastewater compliance, and our production is running smoothly.”

A RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL
Beyond the personal relief, Mr. Ng emphasizes that environmental responsibility is a duty for all factory owners. He urges his peers not to neglect their civic duties and to take active steps to ensure the wastewater they discharge is treated properly.

“Ensuring that our wastewater is clean and safe for rivers isn’t just a regulatory requirement. It’s our responsibility to the environment and the people who depend on it. Shielder has shown that treating wastewater properly is possible, and I encourage other factory owners to take the same step.”

A SUCCESS STORY FOR CLEANER RIVERS AND A BETTER FUTURE
Yamazaki Seiga’s partnership with Shielder has been nothing short of transformative. By addressing their wastewater challenges, they’ve secured not only the future of their production but also the safety of Malaysia’s rivers.

At Shielder, we believe that every drop of wastewater, when treated properly, can become a vital resource that supports life rather than harms it. We’re proud to help businesses like Yamazaki Seiga contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable future for all.

KLCC Exhibition

SHOWCASING SHIELDER’S INNOVATION
FOR THE FOOD & BEVERAGE INDUSTRY

From July 17 to 19, Shielder had the privilege of participating in the Malaysia Food Tech Exhibition, co-organized by the Malaysian International Food & Beverage Trade Fair. Held at the KL Convention Centre, the 3-day event brought together industry leaders, innovators and stakeholders from across the Food & Beverage sector. It was an incredible opportunity to present our innovative wastewater treatment solutions.

At the heart of our booth was one clear message: wastewater doesn’t have to be waste. We had the chance to share not only the technical aspects of our solutions but also our broader vision: a future where wastewater is seen as an opportunity to contribute to a cleaner, healthier ecosystem, rather than as a problem to be managed. Visitors to our booth were able to see firsthand how our process works.

As the exhibition progressed, one thing became clear: collaboration is key. The Food & Beverage industry is one of Malaysia’s largest and most important sectors, and addressing its environmental challenges requires the combined efforts of businesses, innovators, and policymakers alike. We were proud to showcase how our wastewater solutions seamlessly integrate into Food & Beverage operations, helping companies meet regulatory standards while reducing their environmental impact.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who visited our booth during the exhibition. If you weren’t able to attend the exhibition but want to learn more about how Shielder can help your business manage wastewater sustainably, feel free to reach out to us. We’re excited to continue these conversations and help more businesses embrace wastewater as a resource, not just waste.
